Spreading Holiday Cheer for Seniors
ElderHelp is a nonprofit organization that supports seniors all year long and sends a special gift during the holidays! ElderHelp’s Holiday Angels program delivers holiday cheer with a poinsettia plant, gift card, and a handmade card to 350 seniors in the San Diego community. Our firm participated by creating handmade cards for our San Diego Seniors!
Supporting Aseltine’s Holiday Food Drive
Aseltine is a school for underserved students with severe emotional disturbances and learning disabilities. Bruno & Associates’ employees donated over 200 food items for their Holiday Food Drive. The donations of most-needed food items such as canned vegetables and meat, peanut butter, cereal and pasta will help ensure healthy meals for Aseltine families this holiday season.
Partnering with PATH
Our firm had the opportunity to volunteer with People Assisting the Homeless. PATH provides temporary financial assistance and short-term case management services to assist individuals who are homeless with obtaining permanent housing. Our team helped sort and organize donations at PATH’s Clothing Closet and create welcome home kits for newly housed individuals and families!
Supporting San Diego LGBT Community Center’s Youth Housing
In honor of Pride, Bruno & Associates has made a financial contribution to the San Diego LGBT Community Center’s youth programs and Sunburst Youth Housing Project, which provides affordable, supportive housing for high risk LGBTQ and HIV+ youth many of whom were living in the streets after having been ejected from their homes because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We are proud to support these wonderful programs helping great kids.
Soul Savers Outreach Ministry
Karl started Soul Savers Outreach Ministry to tend to provide spiritual support and outreach to the poor, the homeless, and others in the street community. This is an underserved and neglected community and has been among the hardest hit by COVID-19. In addition to providing regular faith services and Bible study groups, Soul Savers serves the community by helping impoverished and disabled seniors obtain renters assistance through various renters assistance programs. Bruno & Associates is happy to provide encouragement and support to Karl’s ministry in the form of a $500 stipend to Soul Savers.
Restore Nate Donation
Recently, Nate Lewis’s family came to us in need of help and we were glad to be able to help them. Nate was hanging out with his friends at Biola riding skateboards. Nate was in the lead and turned onto a street where he collided with a truck. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered significant head and brain trauma. Nate’s condition remains serious, but these are positive signs. Bruno & Associates believe with continued love and support, Nate will be restored and we have donated $30,000 in an effort to help support his ongoing recovery.
2020 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to our 2020 scholarship winner, Joseph Blount. Joseph is finishing his GED and plans to join the U.S. Navy after he receives his diploma. Bruno & Associates is happy to be able to help by awarding Joseph a $500 scholarship for a laptop computer. We wish you much success, Joseph!
Frontline and Healthcare Workers Assistance
The devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic make it particularly meaningful for Bruno & Associates to be able to provide financial assistance to frontline and healthcare workers like Pam Jewell.
Aseltine School Holiday Food Drive
Since 1968, Aseltine School has served at-risk youth with severe emotional disturbances and learning disabilities, whose needs cannot be met in the public schools. Aseltine conducts a yearly holiday food drive to ensure their students meals throughout the year. Eugene Bruno & Associates was happy to fill a bin at the 2019 food drive!
